This Work In Progress page is part of our "To Serve You Better" effort and improve our system reliabilty.  We will use this page to keep you informed about work in subdivisions as well as our various overhead construction projects along Highways, County Roads and Streets.  These projects are necessary to improve our infrastructure throughout the system.  We will also be putting these updates on Facebook.  Thank you for your patience.

YVEA Contractors working in East Baggs, Dixon Area & Clark Area

Member Notice - East Baggs, Dixon area & Clark area: GMS contractors will be in these areas until approximately August 31.  Our GMS Contractors will be accessing YVEA equipment, lines, poles, etc. They will be on ATVs and in vehicles with our YVEA logo. Any questions or concerns, please call

Construction Work Plan – Breeze/Yampa Alley Reconductor
YVEA will be performing a rebuild and re-conductor of the distribution line between Breeze Street and Yampa Street in Craig starting May 1, 2018. Outback Power is the contractor hired to perform the rebuild. The work will be starting at 10th Street and will proceed down the alley to 4th Street. Work will also be performed on 4th Street during the rebuild. This work will require services to be temporarily disconnected during the construction and all members affected will be contacted and scheduled for these temporary outages. YVEA appreciates your assistance for access and patience with the process during construction. YVEA Spring/Summer Projects

With short summers in our region, we have a tight schedule to make sure pole inspections and other summer infrastructure maintenance projects are completed.  We want our members to be award of where YVEA crews are working.  For your safety and the safet of our crews, please move over and give our crews as much space as possible when they are working near roads.  It not only the law, it's the right thing to do. 

In the Steamboat Springs area, YVEA will be reloacating and underground line for the ice rink extension project, as well as an underground cable injection. 

Tree trimmers for YVEA will also be trimming in the Clark area and southern area of our territory. 

Contracted inspectors checking poles, overhead lines and circuits throughout YVEA's system in the Maybell and Sunbeam areas, as well as transmission lines in the Steamboat Springs area between Highway 40, near Elk River Road, to Clark. 

Beginning May 1st contractors will be working on projects in the following areas:

  • Craig –
    • The alley of Yampa Avenue (Hwy 13) and Breeze Street beginning at 10th Street south to eastbound Hwy 40
  • Hayden –
    • The alley between North 4th Street and North 5th Street and along West Jefferson Avenue (Hwy 40) west of 5th Street
    • RCR 53 beginning near the intersection of South Poplar Street and Harvest Avenue continuing south to Hayden Parkway.
  • Phippsburg –
    • RCR 15 between Hwy 131 and RCR 19
  • Baggs –
    • Along North Street and north HWY 789

In addition, crews will also be working at the Thompason Hill substation. 

YVEA Contractors working in Maybell Area

Member Notice - Maybell area: Auto-calls are being made to all members served by the Maybell Substation to let them know GMS contractors will be in the areas of Maybell and everything west of Maybell to the end of the line, including: Sunbeam, Juniper Springs, Lily Park, Elk Springs, Cross Mtn and surrounding areas. Our GMS Contractors will be accessing YVEA equipment, lines, poles, etc. They will be on ATVs and in vehicles with our YVEA logo. Any questions or concerns, please call Larry Ball, 970-871-2282. 

 

YVEA to Begin Craig Courtesy Calls Today, April 24

YVEA  work project courtesy calls will start at 2:30 pm today, April 24, for routes 527 and 528, which include Steele, Stout, Green and Pershing Streets in Craig. Crews will start in the area possibly as early as Friday and on Monday, April 30. 

Inspectors will access the  YVEA system equipment via truck UTV, ATV and by foot, depending on access.  

All contractors will be wearing high-visibility vests emblazoned with the YVEA logo and "CONTRACTOR" on the front and back of the vest.
